lot going on.
i had a covid divorce last year over zoom.
not pretty but i got a good deal.. anyway,.
WT boasts having a cohesive, united worldwide 'Brotherhood' of over 8.5 million JWs spread-out over 120,0000 congregations. When in reality what is playing-out in real time paints a detached & disjointed picture of religious misfits.
What you really have are closer to 4 million attending in-person Kingdom Hall meetings. My quess is that half of those in-person attendees are like bumps-on-a-log...sitting there stupidly silent...preferring to be home on Zoom off-camera with the other 4.5 million.
Gawd-Almighty...things really don't look soo good for the WTBTS & its future based on what's taking place post-pandemic...Yay!

May 1st is just around the corner...It's been nearly a month since JWs started in-person meetings. It started out with a Bang!...but it appears in some areas meeting in-person attendance at Kingdom Halls is worse now than pre-pandemic!
After talking to several individuals in the circuit, many congregations are finding 50% Zoom meeting attendees with cameras off still & the other 50% at the kingdom Hall. Week by week it seems to get worse. So, for the congregation that I'm assigned to which has approximately 150 publishers...75 or less are at the Kingdom Hall & 75 or more are home on Zoom with cameras off.
That can't be good for the mental, emotional & spiritual morale of those attending the Kingdom Halls...Yay!
what do people usually think of when they buy a house?
"i will probably live here for a long time" (you're invested with your time), "i will save money by building equity over time".
(you've invested in yourself financially for the long run) of course, i wouldn't be able to list the numerous reasons why people want to buy a house.
Simplify...Simplify...Simplify!
That has always been the mantra of the JW religion. This is also the reason why soo many senior JWs are in such a poor financial state as they reach retirement. JWs have repeatedly been told to put her/his own life on hold & instead...'Seek 1st the Kingdom'!
The recent upswing in the U.S. housing market has added hundreds of thousands of dollars (đź’¸ đź’µ đź’˛) to homeowners' networth. Sadly JWs, being discouraged from buying a home, are missing out & instead paying a hell of alot more on rent and further in debt!
the watchtower—study edition | february 2022. study article 6. do you trust in jehovah’s way of doing things?.
15 as the end of this system of things draws near, we need to trust in jehovah’s way of doing things as never before.
during the great tribulation, we may receive instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical.
Likely? Might? May? Sounds an awful lot like people who in reality are know nothings trying to impress the gullible with what they [think they] know.
This is the type of terminology a crooked used car salesman uses...if your not careful you will wind-up with a lemon! :) :)

I thought this would be a good time to bump this thread about the infamous February 2022 Watchtower Study article page 2 to be studied this week about putting our implicit 'Trust' in this cult:
Paragraph 9 regarding reassignment of congregations: "At times, we may find it challenging to cooperate with decisions made by the elders. For example, in recent years many congregations and circuits have been reorganized. In some cases, the elders have asked publishers to support a different congregation with a view to making the best use of the seating capacity in our Kingdom Halls. If we are asked to join a new congregation, we may find it difficult to leave friends and family. Do the elders receive divine direction that tells them where to assign each publisher? No. And that fact might make it challenging for us to follow the direction we receive. But Jehovah trusts the elders to make such decisions, and we too need to trust them"
Paragraph 13...regarding disfellowshipped loved ones: "How might our trust in the elders be tested? If the person who is disfellowshipped is not a close friend or a relative, we might readily accept the elders’ decision. But suppose the disfellowshipped person is a close companion."
Paragraph 15...regarding following orders regardless how stupid they sound: "During the great tribulation, we may receive instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical..."
The oddest thing about this Watchtower Study lesson is WT's wanting to summarize it on a positive note by quoting Isaiah 30:15: “Your strength will be in keeping calm and showing trust.”
They left out the last sentence of that verse: "But you were unwilling".
This verse actually ends in a very negative way: "For this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, says: “By returning to me and resting, you will be saved; Your strength will be in keeping calm and showing trust.” But you were unwilling."
Other Translations say: ..."But you refused!"..."But you were not willing!"
Just how stupid are these Watchtower Study Department Writers?

"The Worldwide Order Of Special Full Time Servants Of Jehovah’s Witnesses ("the order") invites you to become a provisional member. If you accept this invitation..."
Hi Atlanta....when I read this WT letter I thought to myself: "Where in the hell have I heard such silly gibberish before"...and it dawned on me that the Roman Catholic Church has a very similar insiders club membership with solemn vows that the upper class have to accept & comply with to remain in good standing. Here it is:
"Catholic religious orders are one of two types of religious institutes ('Religious Institutes', cf. canons 573–746), the major form of consecrated life in the Roman Catholic Church. They are organizations of laity and/or clergy who take solemn vows (in contrast to the simple vows taken by the members of religious congregations) and who live a common life following a religious rule or constitution under the leadership of a religious superior. According to the Annuario Pontificio, there are four branches of religious orders:
* Monastic orders: orders founded by monks or nuns who live and work in a monastery and recite the divine office.
* Mendicant orders: orders founded by friars or nuns who live from alms, recite the divine office, and have active participation in apostolic endeavors.
* Canons Regulars: orders founded by canons and canonesses regular who recite the divine office and generally are in charge of a parish.
* Clerks Regulars: orders founded by priests who are also religious men with vows and have a very active apostolic live...."

I almost forgot...the long list of currently active COs & their wives, retired DOs & their wives, retired COs & their wives are all included in this questionnaire/survey being sent to Special Pioneers!
Imagine a billion dollar corporation asking its elite employees to update them on the amount of personal hygiene/care products such as tissues, paper towels & toilet paper they use on a monthly basis.
WT's need to know how Jah's dedicated donated funds are being used is too comical!

Seriously...they come very, very close to asking the the Missionaries & Special Pioneers how much toilet paper they use:
